How I arrived here -
My dad was diagnosed with Stage IV melanoma
at the age of 60. I was 22 years old at the time.
He was the epitome of health prior to his diagnosis.
Active, social, energetic and healthy. Naturally,
this turned my family’s world upside down. Dad
received all the advised treatment, which
included targeted cell therapy, immunotherapy,
neurosurgery aka brain surgery (4 in total)
and radiation treatment. This undoubtedly saved
his life.
In addition to the above, however, at the time
of diagnosis, dad chose to change his lifestyle.
He changed how he ate, how he exercised, how
he socialised, and ultimately, how he lived
his life. If his prior lifestyle could allow
disease to manifest, he wanted to put in work
to change how it progressed, or lack thereof.
Nearly 7 years on, my dad is still with us, walking,
riding, swimming, socialising. He still has brain tumours, of which are stable, meaning nil changes in size, growth or vasculature, and he has been free from any form of medical intervention (including cancer treatment) for over 4 years.
I truly believe he would not be here today without one or the other, conventional medicine and Naturopathic medicine. So often the body holds the necessary tools for healing, it just needs a little help to get there.
